Tennessee Department of Transportation says drivers in Putnam County and elsewhere in the Upper Cumberland should expect lane closures, flagging and other work-zone activity during the week of Oct. 15-21, according to its roadway activity report.
In Putnam County, TDOT says construction continues in the median of I-40 between mile markers 303.6 and 304.2, where traffic has shifted and motorists may encounter construction vehicles. The department says punch-list work on SR-136, from north of the SR-111 interchange to south of the I-40 interchange, may require temporary lane closures and flaggers.
TDOT says nightly closures will continue on SR-136 between the I-40 eastbound ramps and SR-24 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., with one lane closed in each direction and flaggers at side-road intersections. Flagger-assisted lane closures are also scheduled on SR-24 (Broad Street), between SR-291 and Country Farm Road, through Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; on SR-291 (Bloomington Road), between SR-24 and SR-56, through Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and on SR-56 (Gainesboro Highway), between Hulon Ferrell Road and Old Gainesboro Road, through Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the report says.
The report also lists regional crack-sealing lane closures at night, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., on I-40 in Putnam County between mile markers 281.31 and 286.86, and on SR-136 between mile markers 4.15 and 5.00, according to TDOT. The agency lists no project costs or contact details in the report.
